Artist Barbara Petterson’s representational acrylic paintings feature panoramas of the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas of Delaware, local work boats, folks who work on or near the water, and her well-known “peoplescapes”. Barbara's beautifully composed work features bright, crisp colors and rich textures.
She has a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Fine Arts/Painting from American University, and additional course work at Baylor University, George Washington University and Gallaudet University.
Barbara was Art Instructor at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and was an Instructor of Art at Marjorie Webster Junior College, also in Washington, D.C. Retired from teaching, she currently devotes most of her time to painting,

She has won numerous awards, and her paintings and ceramic sculptures appear in both private and corporate collections.
